Torch is a Chromium-based web browser for Windows with integrated media downloading and sharing capabilities. It is known for its Torch Torrent feature built into the browser, allowing users to download and manage torrents without requiring the use of another software. Torch also includes a Media Grabber feature, which allows users to download audio and video files they encounter on the web in a single click. The web browser includes an auto-update feature, but you may wish to periodically check to make sure you are running the latest version of Torch. If you are not running the latest version, it is recommended that you update Torch browser to the latest version as soon as possible.
If you are currently running a version of Torch browser, you can manually check to see which version of Torch browser you are running. To do so, click the Customize and control Torch button, an icon with 3 horizontal lines to the right of the web address bar, then select About Torch (or just type torch://torch/ into the address bar):
The Torch version you are using will display in the About window.
To verify you are using the latest version of Torch, click the Get help with using Torch button, or visit the Torch Browser Support area. The most current version number of Torch available will display in the page.
Please note that your version of Torch, and the current version of Torch, may differ from those pictured in this article. If the version number under the About tab in your installation is lower than the Current Torch version for Windows that displays in the Support area, then you are not running the latest Torch browser on your computer. To manually download the latest version of Torch browser, visit the Torch web site directly, and click the Download link. Your current Torch installation will be updated to the latest version with all of the settings intact.
