How to find out the current price of Bitcoin

The Coindesk Bitcoin Price Index (XBP) calculates an average using Bitcoin prices from leading global exchanges. The global exchanges that comprise the index are subject to change. Coinbase is a Bitcoin wallet and platform founded in June 2012 in San Francisco, California, USA. Their stated mission is to “make payments more open and efficient for the world.” Coinbase includes a Bitcoin price and chart page on their web site. BTC-e is a Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin, Novacoin and Peercoin exchange located in Bulgaria, and founded in June 2011. The BTC-e price is often included in indices such as the Coindesk Bitcoin Price Index.

Bitfinex (see Market Statistics)

Bitfinex is a Bitcoin, Litecoin and Darkcoin trading platform incorporated in Hong Kong. They offer margin trading, exchange, and peer-to-peer margin funding. The Bitfinex price is often included in indices such as the Coindesk Bitcoin Price Index.
